Rob Blish
Director of Public Safety Connectivity Initiatives
Robbie Blish, a retired Chief of Police with 35 years of public safety experience, brings extensive expertise to AMBCOPS. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Norwich University graduate, Robbie began his policing career in 1988 with the Springfield, VT Police Department and later served with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department for 16 years. In 2011, he returned to Vermont as Chief of Police in Woodstock, VT.
Robbie has held several leadership roles, including President of the Vermont Association of Chiefs of Police and a representative on the New England Association of Chiefs of Police Executive Board. He also chaired the VT Criminal Justice Council’s Domestic Violence Training Committee and sat on the Use of Force Committee and was a founding member of the Law Enforcement Advisory Council for Panasonic Connect, North America.
In 2021, Robbie began consulting for Mac Mountain, a Vermont company working with rural communities to expand broadband coverage. After retiring in 2023, Robbie joined Vermont Covered, a non-profit advocating for broadband access. In 2024, he became the Director of Public Safety Connectivity Initiatives for AMBCOPS, focusing on improving mobile broadband for rural first responders.
Robbie enjoys family time, skiing, and boating.
