AMBCOPS, the Alliance for Mobile Broadband Communications for Public Safety, is a non-profit organization based in Vermont, one of the most rural states in the country. Founded to address the critical need for reliable mobile broadband connectivity in rural communities throughout the country, AMBCOPS is dedicated to enhancing public safety through improved communication infrastructure.

OUR MISSION
AMBCOPS advocates for enhanced mobile broadband connectivity in rural areas, enabling effective communication for first responders and bolstering public safety. Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, we work to bridge the digital divide and emphasize the need for the rapid expansion of reliable mobile broadband infrastructure and connectivity in rural areas to help save lives.
AMBCOPS engages in outreach and awareness campaigns to educate the public, policymakers, and public safety professionals about the importance of improved mobile broadband connectivity for public safety.
OUR WORK
AMBCOPS partners with public safety organizations, associations, other public safety oriented non-profits, civic organizations, as well as individuals and businesses that are concerned with public safety and rural connectivity. In short, AMBCOPS will work with anyone that will work with us.
OUR PARTNERS
AMBCOPS is allied with the Doris Buffett Legacy Foundation and VT Covered. Doris Buffett was a strong advocate for initiatives related to education, access to medical care, and closing the opportunity gap. The pandemic underscored how rural communities have been left behind as urban areas moved to online education, remote work, telemedicine, and advanced technologies to enhance public safety. The lack of mobile broadband connectivity in rural communities hinders opportunities, advancement, and public safety, all crucial quality of life issues. Rural communities deserve the connectivity to fully participate and benefit from the opportunities in our increasingly digital world.
